Melbourne & Olympic Parks
Precinct-wide aerial photography of Melbourne Park, shot annually for the Australian Open from 2012 to 2017, used for venue display and stakeholder presentations.
Project context
Melbourne & Olympic Parks engaged Brett to photograph the Melbourne Park precinct for six consecutive Australian Opens, 2012 to 2017. The brief covered the full precinct, Rod Laver Arena, AAMI Park, Margaret Court Arena and Hisense Arena, shot as a complete site and venue by venue.
Shoot approach
Shoots were timed to Super Saturday, the tournament’s busiest day, flown by helicopter from an hour before last light through to dusk to capture clean daylight detail and a lit night skyline in a single pass. A backup day was held in reserve in case the weather didn’t cooperate.
Image use
Large-format mounted prints up to 5m x 2.4m for venue display, plus high-resolution files for stakeholder presentations and venue marketing.

Commercial requirement
A consistent precinct vertical, produced each year as a large-format mounted print for venue display, plus individual venue shots for presentations and marketing. Angles were matched year to year, precinct boundaries respected, and key venues kept identifiable at scale.
