One of my favourite parts of what I do is shooting aerial photos of the farms. Since I started in aerial photography in 2005 I have shot 100’s of farms throughout Victoria and Australia. I am looking forward to getting back out this spring again in 2024. One aspect of this is seeing the older aerial shots some dating back decades. With these older versions, I can replicate the same angle and make a captivating before and after display. There is a short window just after the start of spring when the crops are at their best, I love the challenge of finding a sunny day within this window to organise the flight. Yesterday was a good day to fly
I flew for a few hours yesterday. There was some fog and haze still around Melbourne but up near Ballarat was fine for aerial photography. One site in particular that surprised me was Korweinguboora Reservoir which I thought looked comfortable nestled within a plantation.
